Sad and Very early demise of our dear friend Prateek!

It was heart renting the first time I heard about Prateek being admitted in ICU for his Viral fever and seizures. He was forced into Comma to overcome the seizure and for one month we all waited and prayed for his health to come back to normal. We all prayed to give his wife strength to surpass this difficult time...that Prateek would be laughing and cheery again...that the hard times will pass soon and Vijeyta kept her strength! Hats off to that lady! But we hardly ever imagined that such a thing would ever happen to such a cute beautiful little family. I can't stop my tears and my heart from skipping beats when I think of Nihi and Vijeyta. Prateek has left us all with nothing but very sweet memories and rememberance of his ever beautiful smile - always shining on his handsome face.

Everytime I picture him...his handsome profile on Diwali day when he wore kurta-pajama comes to my mind! Can't imagine him being sick anytime...forget about being deceased.

Prateek - its truly said that GOD is mean, he takes back all the good people from this world very soon. I want to tell God that this world needs good people like you more than he does and he has no right to tear apart 2 hearts when their life had just started! Prateek, you have left a very big impression even in such a small lifetime and we all will immensely and greatly miss your presence here.

RIP!

My response to hindification of India!

One of my Ex-colleagues forwarded me this blog link which dedicates itself against the Hindification of India. The link is http://yennarascalas.wordpress.com/2008/03/10/stop-the-hindification-of-india/#comment-35 and below is my response to the same. Please leave your comments on this too.

This blog looks quite pointless to me when it comes to suggesting and directing people what to do when you are in hindi or non-hindi speaking state. It says quite easily to learn the local language - If my friend, learning a language was that easy then atleast 50% of the world population would have learnt atleast 50% of the languages that exist or that they come accross.
I agree with you that hindification of India hurts the sentiments of non-hindi speaking states, because its like forcing them to learn something out of their culture. Hindification is killing or going to kill other languages - Dear, where do you get this from? If knowing more than 1 language kills your brain to process the other language that you know then how come you in favour of learning English but against learning Hindi?
What is Language for? Is it not about communication and ease or convenience of it. If you go to China, quite suddenly at a notice of a week probably - would you be prepared to talk to them? Are you sure you will not face problems because you know the global language "English". If you know the stats - which I am assuming you do, then Chinese is the largest spoken language amongst the full world population - not English, And people in China are very poor English speakers.
The point is when you meet a person and want to communicate with him/her, you use language - if not spoken then sign. You are opposing Hindi as if its not a language but a virus, which will spread to your barricated areas of brain if you use it to communicate. Will it infect you with Hiduism if you use it or is it something else that you are scared of?
You gave an example of Punjabis and marathis using hindi which is leading to the downfall of their language - where did you hear this now? Do you know that Hindi (or Sanskrit) is the base of many languages and the reason Punjabis and Marathis and Gujaratis are conversant in Hindi is because of this very reason. Do you also know that in the world of hindi speaking people and that you mentioned "Bollywood" there are more Punjabi or Marathi words and slangs which are intricate part of spoken Hindi than of any other language? Why so? Why is Tamil not making it into Hindi?
People learn multiple languages and encourage their children to do so, in order for them to interact with more and more and more people but it hurts my soul when I read comments which so proudly advocate the use of only Tamil in Tamil Nadu. I have observed this behaviour in many Tamilians - not to respond or to shove off if asked a question in Hindi even when they very well understood the question and even when they can respond in Hindi, they will prefer to walk on or pose to not have heard. The problem here is the mental block created by politicians in that state against that very language and the people who speak it.
Your blog dear is not in any way promoting - what you call it - "Unity in Diversity" - but instead it is showing your this sense of hatred created for Hindi."If an Indian speaks to you in Hindi and you understand, reply in English." - This statement in your blog is proof enough of your hatred towards Hindi. Doesn't it direct people to neglect this language explicitly even if you know and understand it and can reply back in it? Doesn't it depict hatred against hindi speaking people - to teach them a lesson when they try to speak to you in Hindi? Why? Why to hate one language more than the other? Why love and respect english but not a language part of your own nation? Is it because Hindi was chosen to be the national language against the will of SOuth Indian politicians who then started advocating the usage of only their local dialect and boycott "Hindi"?
Languages were created within small communities at their own discretion - of what they all commonly accepted and understood, later these communities grew and expanded and the language expanded with them. The problems started arising when people started migrating and they realised that not every one uses the same convention. At that point people realised that may be learning the other dialect or using signs are the best options at hand. Indian government realised this same kind of need and proposed Hindi to be that one common language which can bind all communities and states. They evaluated their options - the statistics said (Please refer to link for stats "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:South_Asian_Language_Families.jpg") - Indo-Aryan Languages occupied over 60% of Indian subconitinent and less than 40 were covered by Dravidian languages - which included Tamil, telugu, kanada, and malyalam. The decision was simple - the base for Indo-Aryan languages was Hindi and hence it was to be choosen the one language which will help communicate people when they travel or diversify. Now is this simple stat so difficult for you to practicalise? Is it so wrong of government to choose Hindi as the national language? And my freind please do refer to your history book if you debate on whether or not Hindi is the national language of our country!
If not Hindi, then which Indian language do you propose should be nationalized? Tamil - spoken in one state, Telugu - spoken in one state, Kanada -spoken in one state, or malyalam - one state and one uinon territory?? Nationalization does not mean supersiding or dividing other languages it simply means creating standards.
Why are we Indians so against following standards laid by someone other than either our own local community leaders or white foreigners? We can follow standards laid by foreigners because they are white and hence always right! But we are totally against them when our Tamil/Telugu/Kanada leaders tell us that they are wrong standards because they were laid down by some stupid north-indian who wants to rule us by making my people learn his language - so he can directly convince them. Now the last part ofcourse is the hidden truth not outspoken reality by the politician.
Anyways...The point here is - I don't see a problem with Hindification (as you call it) of India. Learning another language or more languages never hurts anybody - it just enables you more and makes you more capable of learning other things - whether people, culture or anything else. Learning more languages also does not make you respect your own mother tongue less or makes you forget it. Its just an individual's choice which language he starts enjoying more or is more fluent with - nobody not even your parents can force it on you. Eventually you keep taht with yourself what you wanna keep. If you learned hindi in school days - because government forced it on you, it did not make you forget Tamil and if you would have chosen to keep that skill set with you just like you so dearly keep English or French as souvenirs and mention them in your resume, you would not have written this blog!
Now the thing about ridiculing people when they don't know Hindi - that's something I don't appreciate by north indians if they do it and when they do it - but think of it this way - its those illiterate or unaware humans who ridicule others - who themselves have no idea that Hindi is not the only language in India. Now, this may be also the side effect of Hindi being the national language that people around the world expect that all Indians know this language atleast and that's why the literate individuals who don't know Hindi are ridiculed - "You are literate, you went to school and still you don't know Hindi, I thought Indian Government set it as a national standard?" - might be one of the ridiculing argument but I think people can handle it. Those who did not learn it at school because of a mental block created by society around them will find it difficult to handle such a remark but other than those everyone else will pretty much have a reason of not knowing Hindi! That might be one of the side effect of nationalizing Hindi but other that I don't see it as a catastrophe.
Are you building bridges or walls - Please rethink and re-evaluate your post. May be you just reflect the ideas of some other influential politician around you!

A new beginning...

I came up with this title because of several reasons...first one being, its been more than a year that I am writing back on my blog...God knows had I been sleeping or too busy with family life or just plain lazy to spend time with myself (how dumb is that??)Well...whatever it was...its not that I never thought of writing but simply that I never felt like I had something to write about...(read as - my brain was in an hybernating mode).

Well it is going to be a very new beginning of my life in just a little more than a month from now...A new chapter of my life is being written and it had been 'under construction' since the past 8 months! Add the numbers and you will get what I am talking about...

All the new moms (did you not guess it till now - duh!!) and to-be-moms are advised to keep a journal of their first pregnancy or any pregnancy for that matter...jot down their day-to-day fears, experiences, body changes, dreams and the likes...anything that they want their baby to know (what abt not know-i am always scared abt this part)...anything that they do not want to forget (what if they don't want to remember?) about their pregnancy term...their best-laid plans for the new-born and blah-blah blah stuff like that!!

Well just like the way I am...lazy and uncaring, I although decided at the very beginning that I will soon start maintaining one...The "Soon" of my life never came accross until (may be) now!

8 months later : (wide eyed - not you...me)...now I actually realise how lazy I am!! :(

Start from the start...

As is said in America that more than 50% of the pregnancies are not planned...mine falls midway between planned and unplanned! I do not know if I planned it or semi-planned it...but in this planning of my notorious mind there was never a "WE" planning...meaning my husband as usual had no idea what went on or was going on in the hearts of my hearts during those months of semi-planning! Neither did I know what my semi-conscious brain was planning...or my heart wanted...on the fore-front I never thought there was anything (any fight/debate) going on within me regarding this matter...never did I even consciously try to sort it out or even remotely thought that it was necessary...I told myself there is nothing I am thinking about :)

And then one day it happened...when I forced myself to pull out that pregnancy test strip and take the test ;-) Just like that...nothing is gonna show up but let's have fun...he he!!

I was half glad and half surprised with the result (can't say I was sad...a little unsure may be) and now that I try to recall it, I think my mind smiled while I looked at the test window showing a positive!

A little unsure of when to share it with the father-to-be, I kept the news to myself for a day or two...absorbing it...may be confirming it...more so thinking how to break the ice within me (was i cold??)!

Disturbed...to be continued!

Reservation...The final nail in the coffin!!

Off late I have realised and I think I am still taking my time to realise the fact that the orders of the government to pass the 50% reservation ordinance is not a joke...a threat...or a stunt.
This is going to happen & will flash in front of me in front of all of us as the earlier 50% reservation ordinance was thurst...giving us a full face blow...right on our nose when we least exepcted it...

I was in school...quite young to understand at the time when the first reservation bill was passed that it is this bill which is gonna affect my life ahead & of many other like fated people's...it affected in full form the fate of my brother & his batch who were the first ones to face the blow on their competencies (or rather a question mark on their competencies) of this Quota...my brother, one of the top brains in his class, couldn't make it to IIT's or Roorkee that year...took refuge (such a disgusting word) in a private college...struggled after coming out of college to get a decent job...because the industry at that time (and at all times) recognized only the top-cream ...the top cream was identified only by these colleges...talent was left stray in private colleges...left for others to recognize...but was hardly or rarely recognized (in India)...Its the degree that is honored...and hence the first target of reservation were these high profile colleges...

Slowly the biggest Parasites of our society...the politicians...the social servers (or should I say workers...it beats me to call them workers...do they ever do any WORK??) started to recognize that industry is searching talent even in private colleges now...Their target shifted...
These politicians who feed themselves on the brains of the creators...the industrialists...the producers, by extracting money out of their pockets....their hard earned money out of their pockets in the form of taxes for the social welfare...These parasites become the middle layer between the rich & the poor claiming that they are "The Social Saviours"... they are the policy makers...the policies to bring equalization in the society!!
What equalization are we seeking for the society???
These politicians become the government...they levy taxes on the people who are earning...who are working hard to earn the money they are earning...the people who didn't depend on the government to give them a job...the people who made their own fortunes by using the best Human Faculty provided by GOD... "The Brain"....and they used their Brains for good....for creating something ... they knew how to "Make Money". They didn't use the poor or exploit them to extract money out of their pockets...they produced goods & sold them...people bought them if they were good...because they were good...the ones who couldn't produce "Good" were swept off the seen...it was always the society of fair game...money to the best...for the best!!
Those who produced consistently became rich...true why not? They were the survivors...they worked for it with all their heart & soul...WITH THEIR BRAINS ...& they earned it.

But then these lesser mortals realised that they were getting sweapt off the market...what can they do?? They are not as good as the survivors...their competetors...They joined hands...They had brains...yes but to play a rotten game!! The game of disguise...the game's name was "Social Service". They came forward & advocated the concept of equalization of society...that money be equally distributed...that everybody should be given equal chance...everybody be allowed to sustain in the market!!
They applied taxes to first curb the rich income in the name of doing "Social Improvements"...they FED themselves on that money...it never reached the intended...no Social Good ever came out of it!! The money made them FAT...their homes richer...richer then the biggets industrialist!! Richer than the MEN who "MADE Money"....

The poor became more poor...
in order to pay taxes & pay labor (labor men also had to pay taxes...they were working men Right??) charges...the producers had to make the goods expensive...the poor needed them & bought them at whatever prices they were available at!! They had to pay more out of their pockets!!
The tax money kept filling the accounts of the "Parasites" ...our good old dear "Politicians"...the "Capital Men"

The brain drain started when the "Brains" realised there was no fair play for them in India any more...they started seeking jobs & opportunities in other open socities, they started researching, producing, owning in far away lands...Away from this "Parasitical" Society of our times...The "Top cream" started migrating...
The middle cream started getting a chance...they were happy... they could make something off their brains...but they did not have the power to produce..they stagnated the society!! They were of the belief that nothing more can be produced in the world...everything has already been provided for. They worked to retain it.

Now comes the era when people in that class have realised there is much more to do...lot more opportunities to make use of their best talents!! The thing that they do best can be done...can be made possible, but not here not in India...Here exist the "Looters"...they will never let me have the "Money" i deserve...they will snatch that away from me...
In the name of passing more bills...in the name of more social welfare...in the name of more reservation!!

They will give it to the ones who never could have earned it themselves...to those who never wanted to earn anyways...to the ones who blamed the rich for making them poor...& begged the looters...the politicians to snatch & present it to them!!
They were till now extracting money...but NOW... they are forcing the producers to employ those who never wanted to work...who will never work, who have no will to work!!
They want to first force them to allow them admissions without competetion....then they will ask us to employ the graduuated...highly educated "No Brains"...

It beats me...this parasitic looter society of India...it kills me to even think of a society made out of this form!! The rule of "Equality"...equlaity of Money!! Money...which is the highest code of conduct...which is the only prize man gets for his efforts!! Equality of this faculty by distributing it to those who never had the capability to earn it!! The only CODE OF SURVIVAL is now to be equal with all!!!

The day this Ordinance of another 50% reservation in private colleges passes in India...that will be the day which will make sure that India is wiped off the face of the earth!! That will be the end of (remaining) productivity in India...this will be the Final Nail in the coffin of India...this will be the day of which the Predators will be waiting for to come!! The biggest crash to the share market will occur that day...the biggest crash to productivity will occur that day!!
The biggest negative exponential curve in the history of Indian Economy will begin on this day...did I say exponential...no exponential rises after some point of time...this will be the biggest negative straight slope in the history of Indian economy...& then there is no looking back....there will be no one to jolt it back upright...there will be no positive bumps (even bumps) in the joy ride of this moving curve...That will be the day World will "Enjoy"...the day the countries (the Predators) are waiting for....from that day onwards, India will be slave again!! That will be the day when everything except the brain drain (out of India) will stand still!!

There will be continuous outflow of brains from India from then on!! No stopping that...
Who will want their offsprings...their children to face the same old Hoax which they call Moral...the same old game of "Showing PITY"...who will want to see their children's futile war against the "Highly Moral Evil" of scoiety...And to see the looters take away the one which he earns if he succeeds in winning the WAR???

India...the poor India...What makes it poor????
It is this self-pity...( I hate this moral word "Pity" in all its essence!!) And everyone of us will Live to see the day when this Moral Value will be the destructive killer...

The day to see the end of India is not far...it was never too far...it was waiting for sch directives to come in effect...such ordinaces & bills to surface up...it was waiting...BUT ITS WAIT IS NOW OVER!!!

Oh!! How my heart bleeds to see one voice to stand-up amidst this chaos & shout!! Say that this is illegal....say that this is IMMORAL...but no...there is no one...No leader who took pride to be called leaders will step forward & call it immoral...oh! how I wish to hear the voice of my conuntry's President today...the highest authority of our country...did any newspaper print any of his statements regarding this ordinance?? Or did I fail to see them??

I may have missed...coz being in US i am able to catch hold of only a few news papers...How I wish to be wrong at this moment...how I wish that someone will come back to me & tell me...Nidhi, our president is taking steps to cancel the license of each & every political party who stands by this ordinance...how I wish to hear from amongst all cries of dispair, one voice of assurance...one word from Supreme court...one word from President...one word which I can be sure of will come into effect, & not that Ordinance...one word which will nullify the powers of all these Blood Sucker politicians & save the nation!!

How much I wish, I hope...although i know this will never happen.
Oh! how much more...
One thing is for sure...since God has given me this privilege & it is for good...If this ordinance passes in India, I will not let my offsprings...my children to be its victim...I will either never bear any if I am in India or I will seek far away lands for them to bring them up...
If this means refuge in US, yes I will do it...I will not do it in the name of my children alone...but for my own sake...not to let my creativity be hampered...for every of that brain's sake which is within my reach to protect and I will do it...for those times when India is a free bird again... for those days when I can come back to plant the first trees on its soil, to see it flourish & green again.... And I will wait for the day when only Creativity, Productivity & workmanship is honored...I will wait for that day...

Reservation...again???

The other day or rather every day & where ever I go I have been listening & participating in the discussions about reservation in my beloved country India...Reserving a 50% quota to the underpriviliged in Private colleges...did I say under priviliged? No...let me correct myself...reservation of 50% seats for the SC ST & OBCs...yes thats what it says...why to take risk u know...who knows whether these people are underpriviliged anymore or not...but still they hold the cretificate of their being this caste!!! They have proof u know...

Here are the things that hammer my head when I try to think about all these ORDINANCES getting passed in India...
1. We all know that its for politicians vote bank that all these issues keep burgeoning every now & then from the heart, no from the soul, no not soul, from the brains (???) God help me....from wherever yaar...they just keep bugeoning like wild weeds from somewhere (or from nowhere) & spring up their ugly heads high up in the air for everybody to notice...they (the issues) very well make sure that their presence IS FELT...
2. Well now that they are noticed & are in the limelight they try to be effective...and as we have seen in the past (50% reservation existing in all govnment colleges) they GET EFFECTIVE!!!

And so finnaly which was once a issue...OUR WORST FEAR...the thing which we all knew was illegal & unreal comes into PLAY!! It actually proves to be sitting all over us by the time we realise it was not a DREAM...it was not a CATCALL...it was a REAL PLAYER...and it is now IN THE MARKET.

By the time & the amount of time we take...uff... to realise & absorb this fact...by then...its all over the place already...flowing like PHLEGM...suffocating & choking the Brains of the able...snatching opportunities out of their hands & handing them over as a GIFT to the WAITING!!!

Who in the hell is doing this...and in what name???

Aren't these our "NOBLE" politicians, the social servers?? SO they are serving society...in the name of PITY over poor...in the name of doing good for the poor...they are trading WHAT??
Do they themselves know???
YES!! the answer is yes...yes they very well know that by taking away the opportunitis from the hands of the able...from the hands of them whom they fear...from the hands of the "Creator" brains...they are handing it over to the ones they can rule!!

They knew that there are probably more FOOLS to support pity than to denounce PITY.

I ASK - "Why in the hell do we PITY???And whom are we showing off that we are pitying??"

Let me not blame here the ones who are seeking PITY...coz they are the ones who are atleast trying to SEEK something!!! Who is throwing Pity away & at whose costs??
Its our good old POLTICIANS...The biggest PARASITES & LOOTERS of all times!! They want to be virtuous to the poor at the cost of the able...
